To understand its suitability we must understand its behavior under various real time conditions. ZRP is a well known hybrid routing protocol. MANET can be used for disaster-management, business meetings, military operations, rescue operations, or in a situation, where temporary communication network among some nodes is demanded. Popularity of MANET has been increased because of the availability of license-free wireless communication devices. Without the fixed base station the mobile nodes dynamically exchange data among themselves. In MANET all mobile nodes behaves as router and when required they takes part in discovery and maintenance of the route to the other node. In MANET mobile nodes are communicating through wireless medium and do not require any pre-existent infrastructure. This enables IP to directly call MPOLSRRouterFunction to determine the route for a packet if MP-OLSR is running at that interface.MANET, AODV, OLSR, ZRP and QualNet version 6.1 Abstract And NetworkIpSetRouterFunction is used to register MPOLSRRouterFunction. To enable the application layer routing protocol MP-OLSR can handle the data packet, an MPOLSRRouterFunction is defined. MP-OLSR is an application-layer routing protocol based on OLSRv2, but it need to receive the data packet to read/modify the source routing packet header. It exsits as an “add-on” in the Qualnet simulator.Ībout adding a new routing protocol in Qualnet, please refer to Qualnet Programmer’s Guide. The MP-OLSR is implemented for Qualnet simulations. The backward compatibility with OLSR based on IP source routing is also supported. In addition, route recovery and loop detection are implemented in MP-OLSR in order to improve quality of service regarding OLSR. The algorithm gains great flexibility and extensibility by employing different link metrics and cost functions. The Multipath Dijkstra Algorithm is proposed to obtain multiple paths. MP-OLSR is a multipath routing protocol based on OLSR.
